Each year we generate around 2.1 billion tons of waste which, if calculated, amounts to about 0.7 kg of waste per person in a day. Each and every human is accountable for this pressing situation that the earth is in.

The only solution which we can perceive for reducing waste is to “reduce, reuse, and recycle”. These are the Three Rs – the first associated words that come to mind when you hear the term “recycle”. Understanding the basics of the Three Rs and then implementing them in your lives is the only way you can reduce the waste that is contributed to the world from your side.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”2_5″ layout=”2_5″ spacing=”” center_content=”no” link=”” target=”_self” min_height=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_position=”left top” background_repeat=”no-repeat” hover_type=”none” border_size=”0″ border_color=”” border_style=”solid” border_position=”all” padding_top=”” padding_right=”” padding_bottom=”” padding_left=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_offset=”” last=”no”][fusion_separator style_type=”none” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” sep_color=”” top_margin=”20px” bottom_margin=”” border_size=”” icon=”” icon_circle=”” icon_circle_color=”” width=”” alignment=”center” /][fusion_imageframe image_id=”1403″ max_width=”” style_type=”dropshadow” blur=”0″ stylecolor=”” hover_type=”zoomin” bordersize=”” bordercolor=”” borderradius=”” align=”center” lightbox=”no” gallery_id=”” lightbox_image=”” alt=”” link=”” linktarget=”_self” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_offset=””]https://www.earthsquad.global/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/recycling-31.jpg[/fusion_imageframe][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container][fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”no” hundred_percent_height=”no” hundred_percent_height_scroll=”no” hundred_percent_height_center_content=”yes” equal_height_columns=”no” menu_anchor=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” status=”published” publish_date=”” class=”” id=”” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_position=”center center” background_repeat=”no-repeat” fade=”no” background_parallax=”none” enable_mobile=”no” parallax_speed=”0.3″ video_mp4=”” video_webm=”” video_ogv=”” video_url=”” video_aspect_ratio=”16:9″ video_loop=”yes” video_mute=”yes” video_preview_image=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” padding_top=”” padding_right=”” padding_bottom=”” padding_left=””][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”2_5″ layout=”2_5″ spacing=”” center_content=”no” link=”” target=”_self” min_height=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_position=”left top” background_repeat=”no-repeat” hover_type=”none” border_size=”0″ border_color=”” border_style=”solid” border_position=”all” padding_top=”” padding_right=”” padding_bottom=”” padding_left=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_offset=”” last=”no”][fusion_imageframe image_id=”2258″ max_width=”” style_type=”glow” blur=”” stylecolor=”” hover_type=”zoomin” bordersize=”” bordercolor=”” borderradius=”” align=”center” lightbox=”no” gallery_id=”” lightbox_image=”” alt=”” link=”” linktarget=”_self” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_offset=””]https://www.earthsquad.global/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/envatoelements-woman-composting-organic-kitchen-waste-pgum28d.jpg[/fusion_imageframe][/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”3_5″ layout=”3_5″ spacing=”” center_content=”no” link=”” target=”_self” min_height=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_position=”left top” background_repeat=”no-repeat” hover_type=”none” border_size=”0″ border_color=”” border_style=”solid” border_position=”all” padding_top=”” padding_right=”” padding_bottom=”” padding_left=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_offset=”” last=”no”][fusion_title hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” content_align=”center” size=”2″ font_size=”” line_height=”” letter_spacing=”” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”20px” text_color=”” style_type=”double solid” sep_color=””]

Buying less or reducing the material we use will automatically mean we are throwing out less waste. Throwing out less waste in the first place would mean fewer resources and money being used for recycling the waste. There are a number of ways through which you can reduce your contribution to the waste piled in landfills and dumps. Few of the most effective are as follows:[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container][fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”no” hundred_percent_height=”no” hundred_percent_height_scroll=”no” hundred_percent_height_center_content=”yes” equal_height_columns=”no” menu_anchor=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” status=”published” publish_date=”” class=”” id=”” background_color=”” background_image=”https://www.earthsquad.global/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/recycling-411.jpg” background_position=”center center” background_repeat=”no-repeat” fade=”no” background_parallax=”none” enable_mobile=”no” parallax_speed=”0.3″ video_mp4=”” video_webm=”” video_ogv=”” video_url=”” video_aspect_ratio=”16:9″ video_loop=”yes” video_mute=”yes” video_preview_image=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” margin_top=”40px” margin_bottom=”” padding_top=”60px” padding_right=”40px” padding_bottom=”40px ” padding_left=”40px”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ layout=”1_1″ spacing=”” center_content=”no” link=”” target=”_self” min_height=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” background_color=”rgba(255,255,255,0.84)” background_image=”” background_position=”left top” undefined=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” hover_type=”none” border_size=”0″ border_color=”” border_style=”solid” border_position=”all” padding_top=”25px” padding_right=”25px” padding_bottom=”25px” padding_left=”25px” margin_top=”” margin_bottom=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_offset=”” last=”no”][fusion_accordion type=”” boxed_mode=”” border_size=”1″ border_color=”” background_color=”” hover_color=”” divider_line=”yes” title_font_size=”” icon_size=”” icon_color=”” icon_boxed_mode=”” icon_box_color=”#25b4d2″ icon_alignment=”” toggle_hover_accent_color=”#5bb45a” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”principlestab” id=””][fusion_toggle title=”Reduce Packaging” open=”no”]

Purchase products that involve less packaging. For example, the things that are wrapped in unnecessary layers of plastic are the ones we need to avoid. You can find products which did not utilize a lot of raw material or energy in their packaging. Some of these products will even mention this fact on their packaging.

[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”Buy in bulk” open=”no”]

Buying bulks of the same product is also an effective way to cut down on the packaging material. Less packaging also translates to a lower price of the product so it’s a win-win for you and the environment.

[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”Prefer recyclable packaging” open=”no”]Prefer products which are packaged with recyclable and reusable material over the ones which are packaged with material which will go into the trash bin.[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”Use public transport” open=”no”]

Cars are another hazard to the environment because they use up energy and cause excessive pollution. It is understandable that the use of cars cannot completely be avoided but what is attainable is the reduction of its use through carpooling, using public transport, walking, and riding a bicycle whenever you can.

[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”Transform your habits” open=”no”]

Reducing your waste production is also closely linked to reducing the use of resources. Simple habits like turning off the lights when they are not being used and turning off the tap while you are brushing your teeth are effective ways of reducing the resources that you use up rather excessively.

If reducing and reusing fails at an item, it’s time to recycle it. For example, you can’t stop having water and water comes in plastic water bottles. If you can’t find a better use for the empty water bottles, send them to be recycled.
